About Me

I have always had a love for art and poetry ... something that I most likely inherited from my grandmothers. That love transcended over to photography as a perfect medium for being able to capture a moment in a real, undiluted form. The wonderful power of photography for helping to preserve memories became even more apparent and important with the birth of my daughters. From the moment my husband and I found out we were expecting our first, we knew that we wanted to document as many moments of her (and her younger sister's) lives as possible. That pushed me to take my photography to a higher level so that we could have professional quality photographs of our family.

Capturing your memories. That is what defines my photography. Whether I am being a mom with a camera as my girls play; showing life in its raw, undiluted form through street photography; preserving how the world looks in a fleeting instant in time through landscape photography; or shooting a client session; the goal remains the same.

Memories are made every day and are a priceless gift.

Now, why this blog?  I realized through starting the blog for my photography business that I enjoyed being able to blog and share stories but that many of the personal stories and thoughts needed a home on a different blog. Thus, As I See It - Confessions of a Mom Photographer was born.  The posts on this blog are my personal stories and opinions and I fully realize that not everyone will agree with me, but the ride ought to be a lot of fun.

So, a little bit about me.  I am a mom to 2 toddlers, a law school graduate, and a wife to an attorney who owns a solo practice in Altamont, TN.  Family is first, but I utilize my legal skills in assisting my husband at his law office and promote my creative side through my photography business, Whispering Pines Photography.
